Overview
Cuesta joined Chivas USA on loan from Expreso Rojo of the Colombian Second Division in August of 2009, making his MLS debut on Aug. 29 against the LA Galaxy. Born on April 17, 1989, Cuesta made his debut in the Colombian First Division with Bogotá club Santa Fé in 2007, playing 24 matches for the club, notching two goals. In 2008, the 6'3" center back joined Expreso Rojo in the Colombian Second Division, where he has played since. Cuesta has also made several appearances for the Colombian Under-20 National Team, and scored the only goal in the team's 1-0 victory over Peru in January.
MLS Experience
2009: Made his debut in the Aug. 29 Honda Super Clásico against the LA Galaxy, playing 90 minutes in central defense just two days after joining the team in Los Angeles.
Other Pro Experience
Made his debut in the Colombian First Division with Santa Fé in Bogotá in 2007, before playing for Expreso Rojo for two seasons.
International
Has played several matches for the Colombian Under-20 National Team, and scored the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 win over Peru in January.
